Resources Page

You’ll notice a new tab at the top of the page today.  I’ve added a Resources page!  It seems like I’m always discovering or being recommended a new puzzle, game, blog, or event since I started this blog, and my bookmarks folder system hasn’t been great for keeping track of it all.  So instead, I’m going to start logging all of those items on the Resource page for my own purposes and to the benefit of anybody who is interested in checking out some new stuff.  I’m sure I’ve left out a ton of stuff I’ve already been told about (and there is even more stuff I’ve never heard of), so if there is anything you think should be on the list, leave a comment and I’ll try to add it before it gets lost in the shuffle.

I felt something nagging at me to try and organize the links somehow into categories of puzzles, mysteries, adventure, etc., but I think that would probably be an impossible task since a lot of the items span across several categories.  So if you’re just looking for puzzle-related stuff, you might have to sift through some fairly non-puzzley things along the way.

Enjoy the new page, and leave me more suggestions! =)

How about a link to Ernest Cline’s blog and/or the Ready Player One online contest?

Have you gotten any further since the last time you mentioned it? I’m #866 on the First Gate Leaderboard, and have been working on the Second Gate goals for just over a week. It’s been fun.

Also, Tanga.com is a great source for puzzles.

They’re mostly picture-based puzzles that decode to a one-word answer or common phrase. They’re almost all user-submitted, and they’re moderated so you get a pretty consistent quality level and a lot of variety. They have 3-4 new puzzles every night (which is a lot to keep up with, but you don’t have to do them all). It’s also a pretty cool place to submit your own puzzles and get some feedback and exposure.

I’ve added Tanga and RP1 egg hunt to the list, thanks!

I didn’t work any more on the RP1 hunt, the first game was so difficult for me, haha. I couldn’t make it 2 minutes without dying! Good luck with your progress =)
