Friday Round-Up

Happy Friday everyone!  Several events coming up as the weather starts cooling off (hooray!).  Don’t forget to tell me about any and every cool haunted attraction you hear about!

BAPHL 6 is Over
And I didn’t go.  But the puzzles have all been posted online, so now I just need to coerce some friends into sitting down some Saturday to solve them on our own!  Brendan Emmett Quigley writes a few words about the experience here, and Eric Berlin talks about helping run the event here (both spoiler-free!).  Did anyone else go?  Sounds like there was a great turnout!

Choose Your Own Adventure 2012
Speaking of Boston, Just stumbled upon this upcoming Boston event, Choose Your Own Adventure 2012 run by Banditos Misteriosos. It’s basically a live-action choose-your-own-adventure story where actors play out the different scenarios for you, with some puzzles to solve along the way.  It will be held next Saturday, September 29th.  Looks like a lot of fun!

Silent Hill Haunted House at Universal Studios
Apparently, the Universal Studios (in Orlando and Hollywood) theme parks are running a Silent Hill-themed haunted house for their annual Halloween Horror Nights* season this year.  That’s pretty awesome!  (Japan gets a Resident Evil-themed house as well!).  I’ve never been to Horror Nights, but this article from last year about the design and development process makes it sound totally incredible

*Watch out for auto-sound

Urban Haunted House
I’m interested in checking out this “Urban Haunted House, The Warehouse: Project 4.1” thing in D.C. at some point this Halloween season (thanks for the link, Matt!).  It’s all-indoors and they have a nice website and really that’s all it takes for me.  Living Social is offering tickets half-off for the next 7 days ($15 per person instead of $30), so that’s a pretty good deal if you were thinking of going.
